A Step-by-Step Guide on How to Verify Your YouTube Channel

 

To view the YouTube Live chat in the app, you'll need to verify ownership of your YouTube channel on StreamCot.com which is necessary to do one time.

 

Prerequisite: Link your "YouTube stream key" on streamcot.com

 

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to verify your YouTube channel ownership and link to your StreamCot Profile.

 

Step 1: Hit the settings button (blue round wheel) on the top right side of the StreamCot app side. This opens the settings menu.

Step 2: In the settings menu hit "Accounts"

Step 3: Under the "Accounts" menu, press the "Verify Your Channel" button, this will take you to streamcot.com to verify your channel. 

A "copy" button will appear directly above the verification code.

Step 4: Press the "Copy" button to copy it to your clipboard. The button will indicate "Copied."

Step 5: Press the Channel Page: "Edit Description" button. This takes you to studio.youtube.com to edit your channel description.

Step 6: Locate "Description" and tap anywhere inside the box.

Go down to the end of your description and tap. Then, press "return" twice on the keyboard.

Tap once again at the bottom of your description. The "paste" button will appear. Tap "paste" and the Verification Code will appear.

Zoom out.

Locate and click on the "PUBLISH" button located top right in blue color. It will change to grey color when saved.

Swipe from the left to right side of your phone screen to go back to return to streamcot.com Profile, YouTube live settings.

 

Step 7: Press the Channel User: "Advanced Settings" button. This takes you to studio.youtube.com to copy your channel ID.

Step 8: Locate "Channel ID" and tap on the "Copy" button

"ID copied to clipboard" will appear.

If you are still in the StreamCot app, swipe from the left to right side of your phone screen to go back to return to streamcot.com Profile, YouTube live settings.

If you were brought into Safari, swipe from the bottom to the middle of your phone screen to show all open apps. Tap StreamCot.

 

 

 

Step 9: Paste Your Channel ID

Scroll down to locate the Channel ID form.

Paste the Channel ID to your StreamCot Profile

Click on "I'm not a robot" and then "submit"

 

Step 10: Press the Channel Page: "Edit Description" button. This takes you to studio.youtube.com to edit your channel description.

Step 11: Locate "Description" and remove the verification key. It is no longer needed.

Zoom out.

Locate and click on the "PUBLISH" button located top right in blue color. It will change to grey color when saved.

 

Once verified and on the Elite or higher plan, you will have access to in-app YouTube live chat and a counter of views and likes.

Tap on the in-app chat bubble icon to toggle the live chat view on and off.

Pinch to zoom on the chat to make the text bigger.

Tap on your channel picture to dismiss the keyboard then pinch to zoom out to see the chat.

 

Note: It can take up to a few minutes after you press "Go Live" for your StreamCot stream to attach the live chat. The live chat will appear in the middle of the screen.

You may adjust the visibility to your preference in Display settings under the "Chat opacity" option.
